About this frozen pack

Crown Fungi frozen huitlacoche (Ustilago maydis) is the Mexican delicacy also called corn truffle: ears of corn whose kernels have turned into plump, silvery-grey to inky black morsels with an earthy, smoky, gently sweet flavor. Ours is from the USA and frozen. Keep it at 0°F (-18°C), thaw in the refrigerator or cook straight from frozen, and sauté with onion, garlic and chile until dark, soft and cooked through. Use it in quesadillas, tacos, tamales, crepes, soup, eggs, risotto and pasta. Do not refreeze after thawing and do not eat raw. One 2 lb bag. Shipped frozen with care by next day air. Natural size, shape and color vary.
